Established in 1999 by two Management Systems Innovators / pioneers the company is currently one of the leading certification body in Malaysia and in Asia. AJA EQS is also a first and only home grown International certification body to certifying organisation overseas under Malaysian accreditation.

Registered with the Malaysian Ministry of Finance, Accredited by Department of Standards Malaysia, and recognised by various Government Ministries, AJA EQS has been a role model for other certification bodies in Malaysia and Asia in the promotion of Certification Mark of Excellence.

Satheesh Karat


Satheesh Karat, a Bachelor of Science graduate is the co-founder and Managing Director of AJA EQS Certification (M) Sdn Bhd, leveraging his expertise in the areas of leadership, management, planning, finance, teambuilding, conflict resolutions, advocacy and trainings.

He has a strong quality management systems and finance background achieved while working with the International Natural Rubber Organization for 15 years. This organization was formed under the auspices of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and consists of 30 member governments.

A primary driving force behind the start-up and growth of AJA EQS Certification (M) Sdn Bhd, he has audited and trained many organizations from various industries to different ISO standards. An IRCA Registered and BSI UK trained ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and AOTS Japan trained ISO 14001 and 45001 Lead Auditor, his vision is to promote and cultivate a workforce in the government and private sector to work in a strong management system environment.

He has guided the ISO Certification business into the future with planned growth and controlled the financial status of the business. He is very well informed of the industry as he represents his organization as part of the Department of Standards Malaysia delegation to attend annual ISO General Assembly held by host nations.

Jacqueline Francis


Jacqueline Francis, a Business Administration graduate, is the co-founder and Group CEO of AJA EQS (M) Sdn Bhd . An avid quality believer, armed with more than 30 years of experience in Management Systems Trainings and Certifications, she is the most prominent female in this industry worldwide.

A master coach in Management Systems, she is recognised by her peers for her personal commitment to help people create success with quality. Acknowledged by thousands of clients for the substance, insight and applicable value her programs provide, she is one of the most successful and motivational speakers to hit the lecture platform

To date, she has successfully certified and trained thousands of organization worldwide from various industries such as Financial Services, Banks, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Telecommunication, Information Technology, Travel & Tourism, Aviation, Defense etc. Some of these certifications have been recognized as the First in the World and have claimed World Class Status Achievements.

Besides her passion for business and the corporate world, she is committed to be part of the initiatives in empowering women in the region. She has also been featured in the “Women in Power” Business Directory and in the local and international media for her strength in Management Systems and entrepreneurial skills.

  1. Ensure impartiality and independence is applied throughout the audit and certification process.
  2. Provide total confidentiality to clients and prospective clients at all times.
  3. Provide a consistent approach to all audits.
  4. Ensure audit teams employ a practical common-sense approach based on experience and technical expertise.
  5. Operate a professional service, which is approachable and accessible at all levels to clients and potential clients.
  6. Maintain an efficient and cost-effective service, resulting in low cost certification with high maintenance of standards.
  7. Provide a full package of services and able to offer a one stop shop for certification services.
  8. Provide confidence to accreditation authorities that AJA EQS can at all time comply with their accreditation requirements.
  9. Ensure that AJA EQS do not practice any form of discrimination, such as hidden discrimination by speeding up or delaying of applications.
  10. Process all applications unconditionally and without bias.
  11. Ensure supplementary assessment information is limited to an outline of the assessment process and does not include guidance on the application and implementation of the relevant standard.


The importance of treating the information obtained during the audit process in the strictest confidence is fully recognised and appreciated by AJA EQS. It is therefore a primary objective of AJA EQS to ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times to meet this objective:

On the first day of commencement of employment, new staff shall be issued with a copy of the “Impartiality Policy”; the “Confidentiality Policy”; the “AJA EQS stated undertaking” and the “AJA EQS Staff Undertaking” in order to emphasize the confidential nature of AJA EQS services and instructs them in the implementation of the confidentiality policy.


The Following Controls Shall Be Implemented; Maintained And Complied With By All Audit And Certification Personnel To Ensure We Achieve This Objective.

  1. Audit personnel are prohibited from participating in the audit of any organization to which they have given assistance, by consultancy, internal audit or training, (other than professionally registered auditor training) or where they have any financial or commercial interest for a minimum period of 2 years prior to the date of application of the organization for registration.
  2. When allocated to a particular contract, audit personnel shall not disclose or discuss any detail; before or after the audit; to any member of staff other than his direct management or other members of the team, as required by the secrecy / non-disclosure agreement signed on commencement of employment.
  3. All subcontracted audit personnel or sector specialists used to support permanent staff of AJA EQS, shall sign a “sub-contract agreement” and a “secrecy non disclosure agreement” on being entered into the live contract personnel listing.
  4. AJA EQS direct employees are prohibited from engaging in consultancy activities, which involve the active design, generation or implementation of a quality and environmental management systems.
  5. All directly employed management and staff are required to declare all financial interests or business activities on commencement and during the period of employment.
  6. AJA EQS staff or contract personnel shall not suggest or imply to imply that certification would be simpler, easier or less expensive if consultancy or training services were used. In addition contract personnel staff cannot offer consultancy or training services to AJA EQS clients that they have been assigned to audit during or after the assigned task has been completed.

All personnel either internal or external, or committees, who could influence the certification activities shall act impartially and shall not allow commercial, financial or other pressures to compromise impartiality. The necessary action will be taken when such personnel breach this agreement.
